::Jaclyn:: Eugene Senior Photography

This is part one of Jaclyn’s senior session.  :)  Jaclyn is my niece and we will be traveling to Maui in about a month for her older brother’s wedding and decided it would be uber amazing to do her session there!  However, because she won’t be taking her Jeep (which rocks!) or her cheerleading uniform, we decided to do a mini shoot at home, too!

Jaclyn is an amazing girl, trust me, I know this firsthand.  Of course, I may be a little partial, but I think anyone who knows her would vouch for me.  Not only was she heavily involved in Mr. Wolverine (a pageant to raise money for The Children’s Miracle Network) as a coordinator, she was also on the Prom Committee, a cheerleader and a soccer player, as well as several other activities last year.  Her senior year will surely be just as busy and productive.  :)

Jaclyn, you know I love you to pieces!  Watching you grow up to be the amazing young woman you are now has been so amazing.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you, I know it will be great!  I hope you love your pics and I can’t wait for Hawaii!!

Okay, so Jaclyn had the cutest shoes and I was a little obsessed with them and I had to post them!  Haha!  What can I say?

Jaclyn’s best friends Cora and Courtney joined us on the shoot.  :)

Normally I include a slideshow here, but as I said before, this was a mini session.  However, I will have a slideshow for her full session next month from MAUI!!  :)  Aloha!!

::Chelsea & Toph:: Eugene Oregon Wedding Photographer

It was a gorgeous summer day, the kind that you want live in forever.  Chelsea was absolutely gorgeous and glowing, totally at ease as her mother and bridesmaids laced up her gorgeous gown.  Her giggles lingering in the air, which is just so Chelsea, full of life and laughter.  She was eager to see her future husband, ready to vow her life and love to him.

Toph was grinning from ear to ear as he joked with his men, happy that the day had finally arrived.  He looked incredibly handsome and cool, in that James Dean sort of way.  He was eager to see his future wife, ready to vow his life and love to her.

Chelsea & Toph, photographing your wedding was such an honor for us.  You two have become more like family to us over the past year and we absolutely love you both.  Your love is perfect, effortless, easy- exactly the way it should be.  :)  Your wedding was absolutely amazing and we loved every last minute of it!  Let me just say, you two know how to throw one heck of a party!  I’m sure your honeymoon in Hawaii was fabulous and we can’t wait to hear all about it!  We hope you love your pictures!!

Chelsea, you are gorgeous!

One of my favorites pictures that Jeff captured of the men!

Details make me happy, so I try to devote a portion of time during the wedding to capture all of the wedding eye-candy.  :)  Rings, in particular, are one of my favorite things to photograph.

This is why you want two photographers at your wedding.  These two pictures were taken at the same time.  Toph’s reaction when he first saw Chelsea coming down the aisle.  Chelsea with her parents as they exchange a few last words before giving their daughter’s hand in marriage.  :)

Okay, I just have to say that I love a wedding party that likes to have a good time!  Chelsea & Toph’s party were hilarious, my cheeks hurt from laughing so much!  :)  I had to post this picture because it makes me smile and it is just so them!

As I mentioned before, Chelsea’s laughter is truly infectious.  I am in love with the next few pictures of their first dance.  They started off slow and romantic and then busted out their dance moves to Michael Jackson.  It. Was. Awesome!

::Brianne:: Oregon Boudoir Photographer

My family and I are enjoying this holiday weekend camping at the coast before our kids start school. :) We drove into town, so I wanted to get a post up real quick while I have service. I’m going to be short on words because I am short on time! :)
I hope you are all able to get out and enjoy the last of the summer sunshine. If the sun isn’t hot enough for you, Brianne’s steamy Vixen session should do the trick! ;) She rocked the shoot! Enjoy!!

erica ann - Seriously, its all about the spiral staircase. Beautiful images Holli!

September 6, 2010 - 11:18 pm

::Elysse & Rodney:: Salem Engagement Photographer

We decided early in our career that we would offer complimentary engagement sessions to all of our wedding clients.  Occasionally we have a little hesitation from our clients who don’t understand the need for such a shoot.  The main reason we do these sessions is to get our clients in front of our cameras before their wedding day.  This gives us a chance to get to know them better without the wedding-day stress.  We can also see how the couple interacts with each other, both when we are watching them and when they don’t know we are watching them. ;)  To sum it up nicely, engagement sessions give us the opportunity to do our homework before the final exam.

With that said, Elysse & Rodney were on the other spectrum.  :)  They were both very excited about their engagement session, which made working them so much fun for Jeff and I.  I love nothing more than when my clients also do a little homework and familiarize themselves with our work and style of photography.  It adds a level of trust from them that allows them to be less inhibited because they know that while the poses might feel awkward, through the lens it’s a totally different perspective.

Elysse & Rodney, we had the greatest time with you two!  You are so adorable and I absolutely loved seeing how much you two adore and love each other.  :)  Thank you so much for traveling so far to do your session, I hope you loved the location of your shoot as much as we did!  Your trust in us and willingness to jump in with both feet- literally- was pure awesome!  We are so excited for your wedding this October!  Thank you for choosing us!

::I Heart Faces Contest Entry:: His Little Girl

Once in awhile I try to enter my pictures into a weekly contest put on by I Heart Faces.  Each week they welcome a guest judge and feature a different topic.  This week’s topic is Photojournalism, which means capturing a moment as it is happening, not posing a perfect picture.  As a wedding photographer, a lot of what we do is photojournalism because we strive document the day, not recreate, reenact or interrupt what is happening naturally.  So, needless to say, I love this week’s topic and just had to enter!  :)

The photo I chose to enter is of one of our 2010 bride’s, Erin and her dad.  This picture just warms my heart.  :)  Erin’s dad was able to keep his composure right up until it was time to walk his one and only daughter down the aisle.  As they stood in their living room, waiting for the wedding party to make their way down to the altar, he looked at her, she looked at him and they were both overcome with emotion.  They clung to each other as they sobbed.  It was such a beautiful, heartfelt moment to witness.  :)

September 2, 2010 - 7:26 pm

Christina - This made ME cry! Such a wonderful picture.

August 31, 2010 - 10:43 pm

Rachel - Oh this is just beautiful! I love the emotion and the body language. You captured it perfectly!

August 31, 2010 - 10:38 pm

Julie - Love this photo! The emotion is evident and I imagine the photo on the back wall was “his little girl” and here she is all grown up. Wonderful photo.

August 31, 2010 - 4:54 pm

danielle - wow…now that is sweet.

August 31, 2010 - 10:47 am

Lois Sparks - omg! I wanna cry! It made me think of the song “I LOVED HER FIRST” by Heartland. This is probably one of my favorites in this challenge so far…

August 31, 2010 - 12:42 am

Hannah Cherry - Love love love! You could even suppose the picture in the background is a picture of a little girl, maybe even the bride.

August 30, 2010 - 8:14 pm
