::For the Bride:: Create an Inspiration Board with Dessy Group

I received an email from Dessy Group awhile back inviting me to upload my images to their site for their new inspiration board application.  What is an inspiration board, you ask?  In a nutshell, it’s a collage of fabulous wedding details.  At Dessy Group, Bride’s have the option to browse these hot little boards, or create...

::Reader Q & A::

  So, I tried to do a Q & A post weekly and to put it bluntly, I failed.  I had initially selected Sunday’s as the Q & A day, but we often are out of town- which sometimes results in being without internet, so that wasn’t a very smart choice, now was it?  :) ...

joey - hey holli! i am a huge fan of your work, your style is unique. how do you do it? i am an aspiring photographer out of california, not pro yet. for equipment i have a canon 50d and a 50 1.8 and the little 18-55 my camera came with when i bought it. i saw your post about the lenses you have (wish i owned them!), but i feel like the equipment will only do part of the job. what tips do you have for style? i think i can develop my style with what i have and tweak the images to look perfect in photoshop. i would love your input, thanks!

::Sunday Q&A:: Reader Question of the Week

Okay, okay- so I wasn’t planning to not blog this past week- but that’s exactly what happened.  I was on vacation last week, we had a family trip to the coast, my little guy started Kindergarten and I took a lot of time getting caught up on editing, emails and sleep.  :)  So, needless to...

Drew - Great tips! Keep these posts coming, it’s so cool how open you are with what you know. Thanks!

Stacey - My dream is to become a wedding photographer, but how do you get started? I have several friends who are getting married, but I just don’t feel right asking them if I can photograph them when I don’t have any examples to show them or top of the line equipment. I don’t even have a site or business cards, either. With nothing to show, what would be the point? I just don’t know where to start.. What are your suggestions? Oh, and I love your blog BTW!

Sara - Good advice Holli – second shooters make all the difference. I have so much more fun and stress much less when I have a second shooter. Plus the client gets more coverage which makes them happy :)

::Sunday Q&A:: Reader Question of the Week

Um, yikes!  Has a week seriously passed by??  It seems impossible and also terrible that an entire week has gone by and I failed to post anything to my blog.  Dear internet, I’ve neglected you.  So sorry!!  I have been lost in the land of editing.  I have so much to post and I’m desperately...
