Well, it’s officially 2016, which pretty much blows my mind, but it also has me so excited! While we’re only just a few days into this new year, I have to admit, I’ve been eagerly awaiting it’s arrival for months now. Like so many of you out there, I have big plans for this year. Plans that include making dreams a reality, hosting a few Evoke Retreats, blogging five times per week, revamping our senior model program, restructuring our senior portrait collections to include makeup & hair in every session and a few other exciting things we have in the works. Needless to say, we’ve hit the ground running and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
For some reason, I couldn’t seem to get a handle on my blogging this past fall, so I have made it a strong area of focus for this year. One of the first things I did last week was sit down and draft a blog schedule, so I could stay on track all month long. If you’re reading this post right now, then you can see that my plan was a success. (Yay!) You might also notice that this post looks a little different that usual, too. We’re doing some house keeping and refreshing the brand to give it more of an editorial look and feel. The blog is only the beginning of our revamp, so keep an eye out for all of the gorgeousness we have in store. It’s going to be awesome, I promise!
When it was still warm and pretty here in Oregon, I had the opportunity to work with the lovely, Kali, who also happens to be one of my 2016 Senior Models. As we were planning her session, she wanted something unique and little rustic, so we decided to travel to a small town for her senior pictures. The beautiful thing about working in a rustic location is the variety of textures and color that you can find, from old, vintage buildings to weathered and tattered barns, all the way to a natural, simple tree-lined river. The possibilities are endless and I love that. We were graced with gorgeous sunlight the evening of her session, it was the kind of light that photographers gush over- and trust me, I was absolutely giddy with the results. Kali, you are seriously amazing. I have had so much fun working with you and getting to know you, I hope you’ve loved the experience, too! Thank you so much for choosing me to be your senior photographer! Much love!
