Over the summer, I met up with my Senior Models at Smith Rock for some fun mini sessions. For those of you who don’t know, I am in love with SMITH ROCK! Of course, I have a love affair with every square inch of Oregon. But, there is just something special about Smith Rock. I’ll never forget the very first time I went there. I’m not going to lie, as we drove toward the area, it looked so small in the distance. I will even admit that I was feeling underwhelmed as we parked our car. It wasn’t until I moved away from the parking area and onto the trail that I finally saw what all of the fuss was about. A breathtaking view that felt like I had stepped straight into a picturesque postcard. I fell in love.
While planning all of the Senior Model shoots for my team this year, I knew I had to include a destination shoot out at Smith Rock. Logistically speaking, this shoot was pretty tricky. Eight of my Senior Models were able to attend, which meant scheduling couldn’t be limited to golden hour. Smith Rock is also kind of remote and all of my girls were driving from all over Oregon, so I didn’t want them driving over the mountain in the dark, following their shoots. So, I planned the sessions for mid-day in the full-sun. I love challenging myself to rethink my normal approach. I definitely had to work around the sun, but I love the results and couldn’t be happier with the images! And, I mean, look at how gorgeous Melissa is! She absolutely killed it!
