::Posing & Lighting Workshop:: Portland Oregon | TNT Workshops

It was over 2 years ago, while working at the credit union, that I had a lengthy conversation with my dear friend, Justine. The conversation was all about a vintage inspired photo shoot, complete with WWII aircraft, and how I was dying to make it happen. I didn’t have access to planes, but I had a vision. It was about a week or two later than Justine came to work with a huge smile on her face and the July 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar in her hands. She told me she had a present for me, holding out the magazine to me- inside was 12 page spread of an Amelia Earhart inspired photo shoot: Fashion Takes Flight. I about died!

Fast forward to about eight weeks ago. We were on Skype, making plans for our upcoming Portland TNT Workshop. John happened to mention that he had just been given the opportunity to do a shoot with airplanes. But not just any airplanes, vintage aircraft, legit WWII planes. My jaw literally hit the keyboard and I stared back at him in complete shock and awe. Within seconds I had my prized Harper’s Bazaar in my hands, showing him page after page of the Amelia Earhart inspired shoot- words flying out of my mouth a mile-a-minute, my brain overloading with a million ideas of what we could do with the planes…

Last week we did a test run with the planes so that come time for the workshop, all of the kinks are worked out. I cannot even begin to express the way I felt that day. There are no words. I can only sum it up by saying that it was absolutely amazing! When you give yourself the freedom to dream, there is no greater feeling in the world than living your dream out loud.
