There is something pretty special about shooting in locations that are privately owned. Not only are they typically loaded with incredible areas to photograph, they’re also totally unique and mean something significant to my clients. Of course, the downfall is that they aren’t available for me to use time and time again. As a girl who loves adventure and exploring new places, you can imagine my excitement when Liesl requested doing her senior session at Black Butte Ranch. Liesl grew-up spending countless weekends and getaways to Black Butte Ranch with her family, so it holds a special place in her heart. I loved that she wanted to incorporate it into her senior pictures!

On the day of her shoot, the weather started off a little fierce! There were black clouds, crazy winds and even a few rain showers, which had both of us worried that rescheduling was going to be necessary. And then, something amazing happened! About fifteen minutes into her session, after a few minutes of light rain, the clouds opened up and it was nothing but gorgeous sunshine. We were both absolutely thrilled and took full-advantage of the drastic weather change!

Liesl, I cannot begin to thank you enough for such an amazing senior session! I had the best time running all around Black Butte Ranch with you, finding so many beautiful locations to photograph. It was seriously breathtaking! Hands-down, my favorite place was the little pond we found- I could have shot there all day long! Such an amazing hidden gem! Thank you so much for choosing me to be your senior photographer and for showing me so many new places! One day, I hope to be able to go back and shoot there again!
