If you ever ask me to do a photo shoot in a desert ghost town- I’m in! I am a total nerd who absolutely LOVES history, so, as you can imagine, I am obsessed with ghost towns. They’re relics, frozen in time- and that absolutely fascinates me. Oregon has several ghost towns, but to be completely honest, I haven’t been to most of them. But, it’s on my bucket list of things to do- and one day, I will. Many of them are located in the Eastern part of the state, which simply isn’t an area we’ve really visited.

Earlier this year, I travelled to Las Vegas with three of my amazing friends, Jolene Dombrowski, Brittney Kluse and True Moua. We came together to host the Deconstructed Road Trip, which was basically a photography shootout on steroids. To hear all about our adventure and the mile-long list of chaotic obstacles we had to overcome to make it happen, tune-in to our podcast, Certified Madness (RECAP EPISODE #1 and RECAP EPISODE #2) It’s a doozy of a story and quite entertaining!

The day before the event, we decided to treat our amazing models to an extra shoot in the desert and reserved Nelson Ghost Town. It was amazing! It was my first time ever going and it did not disappoint! Not only did we luck out with a gorgeous, sunny day- keep in mind, it SNOWED the first few days we were there- our models were so incredible! Of course, I stayed true to me and spent most of my time capturing nature and light. That’s how I roll. With that said, it was so fun exploring and creating in a new environment. I fully intend on heading back to Nelson the next time I go to Vegas. If you haven’t been there yourself, you definitely should! I loved it there and the proof is in the photos.

To the beautiful, Lauren, one of our amazing model’s (who also happens to be one of Brittney’s senior clients), you are the best! And I mean it! I had so much fun working with you, girl!
