In September, I held my last Evoke Workshop for senior photographers for the year! It’s still hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that 2016 is so close to drawing to an end. Where did the time go? This year was extra special for me because I held three Evoke Workshops in my beloved PNW. Two in the Spring at the gorgeous SKAMANIA LODGE along the Columbia Gorge in Washington and one in the fall at my favorite getaway, the SUNRIVER RESORT in Central Oregon. Both locations were so amazing and breathtakingly beautiful! But, I have to be honest and admit that Sunriver was the perfect fit for me and the type of workshops I want to host.
The amazing thing about holding the workshop in Sunriver was that I was able to get my senior clients to come and model for the event AND I got to take the attendees to actual locations I work in. This was so much fun for me! It was such a cozy event and I loved every single second of it. Rather than meeting in a conference room, we curled up on couches and talked about business struggles and successes, inspiration, creation, session workflow, marketing, branding, pricing and so much more. No lectures, just conversations. And, although I was the one teaching the event, it was the exact mental rejuvenation and reset that I needed for my own business.
It’s hard to accurately express just how grateful and honored I am to all of my past attendees for allowing me to share my passion for what I do. I love nothing more than sharing my heart for working with teen girls. It’s so much more than just a job for me. I’m living my dream and all I want is for others to find success in doing the same. Running a successful business is hard, but if you love what you do, you’ll fight for it every day. There’s so many things I’ve learned over the years- about photography, about business, about myself. It’s so fulfilling to share my journey with others and to hear their stories, too.
I am so excited to be heading back to the Sunriver Resort in April 2017 for the next Evoke Workshop! We will be heading out to some incredible locations (including the location featured in this blog post) for images for your portfolio. We will be covering a multitude of topics regarding the business of senior photography, including session workflow, online presence and branding authentically.
