It’s hard to believe that my baby cousin is actually old enough to be graduating high school. It just doesn’t seem possible. I can remember when my aunt told me she was going to have a baby. She waited until she knew she was having a boy and asked what he should be named. I was 11 yrs old and totally obsessed with 90210- the original, so instantly I answered, “Dylan. You should name him Dylan!” She rolled her eyes and said no. She then proceeded to tell me that she liked the name Grant and I was quickly swayed and eagerly accepted the name, stating: “Ooh! That’s Jake’s real name, Grant Show!” (Think back to the original Melrose Place now.)
Haha, I know. Even at the age of 11, I was obsessed with Hollywood actors. Some things never change.
I have always been very close to my cousins, and the rest of my family to be honest. We have strong relationships and I have always considered “my boys”, since I am the only granddaughter, to be more like my brothers than my cousins. It has been so amazing to watch my boys grow into men. Respectable men. Good men.
Grant, we’re closer now than I think we’ve ever been. This past year has had its share of ups and downs, but you’ve plunged through it all with your head held high. We are all so proud of you and know that you are going to do amazing things in this world. Just know that no matter what, we are always here for you, we will always support you and will always love you. :) Congrats, cuz!!
This is Grant with his mom, my aunt Trena.
We also snapped a few pics of him with his girlfriend, Hailey. :)
