I’ve received a lot of questions and messages about my characters, Hailey & Jonah- who do I picture when I write about them, what do they look like, etc.  Some of you may have even seen the post I made the other day on the Facebook Page about a dilemma I currently facing regarding this exact topic.  My post went a little something like this:

I have a very clear vision of who my characters look like. So, now that I am in the beginning stages of starting to “cast” Hailey & Jonah for promo shoots and the book cover, I find myself in a bit of a predicament… Oy vey! The troubles of an Author/Photographer!!

Because I am a photographer and I am more than likely self-publishing this work of love, I have every intention of executing concept photo shoots based on scenes within Reckless.   These photos will be used throughout this blog, for promotional materials and the cover!   Can’t lie, I’m STOKED about this!  But, before I can even begin to entertain the idea of shooting for the book, I’m forcing myself to finish writing it first (ONLY 4 CHAPTERS TO GO!!).  Damn those priorities, right?  Right.  Or in my case, it should be Write.  Ha!  So witty!

Truth is, I know EXACTLY what Hailey & Jonah look like.  I even have a secret Pinterest Board dedicated to them, you know, so I can cyber stalk their faces and write all about it- while I’m actually looking at them.  Not. Creepy. At. All…  I call it research.  You might call it something else.  But, as the author, I consider this to be a vital element.  After all, in order to bring them to life, I have to be able to visualize them so I can describe them in such a way that you can visualize them, too.  The only problem is, I can’t exactly contact the two people I’ve based these characters after, as they’re kinda famous and I’m kinda not. You now understand my problem.  Have no fear, I’m in the process of working out a solution!

In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to describe Hailey for you and then let you post who you picture to be her.  Now, just for fun, let’s pretend we’re casting Miss Hailey Convington with an actual actress.  Here’s what you need to know about Hailey… She’s an eighteen year old college student.  She’s a lyrical dancer with a petite frame.  Her hair is long and dark brown, she has a heart-shaped face, heart-shaped lips and big, hazel/green eyes and high cheek bones.  When she smiles, her whole face lights up- even her eyes.
