On September 18th, 2013, the photography industry lost a very talented, giving, loving artist.  Jeff and I didn’t know Marvell Smith very well, we met in Vegas a couple years ago and occasionally interacted through Facebook.  What we do know about Marvell is that he was a loving father who had a passionate heart to give, warm smile for everyone he interacted with and an incredible gift for photography.  He was one of the nicest people we’ve ever met.  My heart is so sad for his friends, family and his two sweet boys.

The photography industry is like one big family and yesterday we lost one of our own.  The beautiful thing about family is that when in need, we all come together to support and love and give.  I was blown away yesterday to see so many amazing photographers step up without hesitation to give their photography and fulfillment services to Marvell’s clients.  Last night, a foundation was created in his honor, for his two children, if you are able, please make a donation- no amount is too small.
