When I received a message from Lailek, I was so excited to learn that she was the younger sister of Jaazi, one of my first senior clients from four years ago! While working with Lailek, I couldn’t help but reflect on how much my business had changed and progressed over the years. You see, it was around the time that I photographed Jaazi that I had decided I wanted to specialize my photography business in senior portraits for girls, something I wasn’t fully convinced I could solely build my business around. Without question, it was what I wanted, but where I live there aren’t a lot of photographers that focus on just one genre of photography. At the time, going against the grain was a scary idea, but I trusted my gut and my heart and did it anyway. And I have never regretted a day of my decision. As I photographed Lailek, I was overcome with pride, realizing that everything I had ever asked for and worked toward in my business had come true. My dream had become my reality.
Lailek is one of the coolest girls I have ever had the opportunity to work with. While I have a tendency to laugh too loud and chatter away endlessly, Lailek has a calm and collected grace that just comes naturally. I need to take lessons from her to learn how she does it! ;) Lailek, I had the best time working with you!
