They booked us when we barely had a wedding portfolio. We’d only photographed two weddings at that point (both for friends), so I was thrilled- and shocked- when I received the email from Mallory. She and Derek were the first couple to book us for a wedding without knowing us personally. It was a pivotal moment in my career, even with our bare-bones portfolio, we’d managed to spark interest in our work and deliver something that they wanted. We were thrilled!
We finally had the opportunity to meet Mallory & Derek recently for their beach engagement shoot. Of course, after all this time, we’ve exchanged several emails, phone calls, and we’re even Facebook friends, but up until their session, we hadn’t actually met them face to face. However, they instantly felt like old friends of ours and as we learned more and more about each other, it turns out we share a lot of the same friends. It’s truly such a small world.
Mallory & Derek- and of course, Brayden, you three are the cutest family! We had so much fun on your shoot and we hope you love your pictures!! We’re so excited for your August Wedding at Deep Woods. Thank you so much for choosing us to share in your special day.
Mallory & Derek’s son, Brayden, was also at the shoot. :) He was our little assistant for the day and quite intrigued with the camera. I snapped this picture of them and had to post it because it makes me smile. :)
We also took the opportunity to capture a few family photos, too.
