Over the past 6 years, since starting Holli True Photography, there have been so many things I have learned. Entering the world of self-employment, I had NO IDEA what I was in for. Sometimes I wonder how I’ve managed to make it this far because owning and maintaining a business is hard- especially when flying solo. I absolutely love my job, I love my clients, I love my camera, I love that I get to make a living that is surrounded around creativity and inspiration. But, like so many other photographers with a home-based office, knowing how and when to shut off the business brain becomes a bit of a struggle- because you’re always surrounded by work. Passing by the doorway to the office is a constant reminder of all the tasks that still need to be completed. Late night edits are far too alluring to pass up. And don’t even get me started on social media… Truth is, I believe that balance is the hardest thing about being a business owner, which has become my biggest area of focus for the remainder of 2013. Looking ahead to 2014, there will be many changes being implemented into my business to help me achieve better balance… Be looking for more announcements on this soon!
Taylor is no stranger to the Young & Free Blog, this girl has been featured in numerous posts over the past few years. :) Taylor was one of my amazing reps a few years ago and I absolutely fell in love with her. Since then, we have worked together on several projects, I jump at any opportunity to get her in front of my camera! I was so excited when Taylor agreed to come out for my last workshop to model for us during the Native Summer concept shoot. Taylor is the epitome of Young & Free, that’s just one of the many things I love about her. Taylor- I cannot thank you enough for such an amazing shoot! I think the world of you and can’t wait to work with you again soon! Much love!!
