One of the things I love most about living in Eugene, Oregon is that I am an hour from the Cascade Mountains and an hour from the beach. It doesn’t really get better than that, not in my humble opinion, anyway. It’s pretty breathtaking here. I’m an Oregon girl. I was born and raised here, so I can’t speak to other locations. But, I know I live in a beautiful State with so many natural wonders and lovely landscapes to take in at every turn. I’m blessed, lucky and spoiled to call Oregon home. And I love nothing more than celebrating her beauty with my amazing senior clients who are willing to go adventuring with me for their senior pictures.
When Rylie’s mom contacted me to book her daughter’s senior session, her number one request was that we take them at the beach. It was the perfect place for Rylie, who is a swimmer, surfer and all-around natural athlete. I absolutely love shooting at the beach because it’s so captivating and crazy beautiful. The only drawback is the insane amount of wind and it’s often pretty cold. On the day of Rylie’s session, however, it was the warmest day I have ever experienced on the Oregon Coast… 91 degrees. Never. In. My. Life… Temperature-wise, it was perfect! But then there was the wind, which was whipping with so much force that the sand was pelting us like tiny little knives. I love wind and always embrace it in my images, but this was strong gale force wind, which was a different matter entirely. Needless to say, we had to be very patient and strategic while shooting, trying to time our shots just right. :)
RYLIE, I cannot thank you enough for choosing me to be your senior photographer. I had so much fun dodging sand, laughing our way through the wild wind and working with you during your session. You are one of the sweetest girls I have ever met and I simply adore you to pieces! I hope you loved the experience as much as I did and that your senior year is everything you imagined it would be and more. Your future is bright and I can’t wait to see where your journey takes you, I know it will be great!! Much love!
