This past weekend I asked you to post any questions you had about my photography, business, branding or marketing to my Facebook Page. I wound up receiving a lot of comments & messages, which I am thrilled about! I decided to compile a few of the question into a blog post, making it easier for people to refer back to this post, as opposed to all of the answers getting lost in the Facebook thread. Thank you so much to all of you sent in questions, keep them coming! :)
Hi Debra! Thank you so much for your question! Don’t mind the iPhone photo above, but I decided to take a picture of everything I tote along to a Senior Session. Here is a broken-down list of what I take, including links to our favorite vendors, who we purchased these items from:
BAG: Kelly Moore Classic in Cranberry Croc (I went with this particular bag because it looks great with brown & black clothing)
CAMERA: Canon 5D Mark II w/ Battery Grip
LENSES: Canon 50mm 1.2L, Canon 85mm 1.8, & Lensbaby Composer Pro w/ Edge 80 Optic
CARDS: 4gb Ultra II & 8gb Extreme SanDisk Memory Cards, stored safely in a Think Tank Pixel Pocket Rocket (10 card storage)
REFLECTOR (not shown): Creative Light 32″ Silver/White Reflector (metal frame & handle)
MISC: Lens Cloth, Lip Balm & Water Bottle
This is my exact list of must-haves for every single Senior Session I do. I hope this helps!
Hi Abbey! Oh my gosh, there is no way I can choose just one. I am going to have to say that I cannot live without the 3 lenses I listed above, Canon 50mm 1.2L & 85mm 1.8 and the Lensbaby Composer Pro w/ Edge 80 Optic. I don’t go to a session without these three lenses- if I did, I would feel lost!
Hi Amanda! Yes, this summer we released our latest book, Body Language: The Pose Book. Body Language can be purchased here. Thank you! :)
Hi Nicole! Oh my gosh, I am so sorry for your client’s loss. That is tough, I cannot even imagine. I love that she wants to honor her best friend in her senior pictures, that is awesome! There are few ideas that spring to mind as ways that you could help her do this. A closeup shot of any type of jewelry or memento that they each had, a necklace, charm, bracelet, etc. A locket comes to mind, she could put a picture of her best friend in it and you could capture a closeup shot of her hand holding the locket, showing the picture inside… An article of clothing that belonged to her that really represents her best friend that she could wear in honor of her. Or, if they have a location that they loved out in together, she could do some of her senior pictures there. I’m not sure if that helps at all, but I hope so!
Be sure to check back for more Q&A posts soon! Happy Tuesday!
