I know it has been a lifetime since I’ve blogged– which literally blows my mind. Blogging is one of the things I love to do most for my business, but when things get crazy, it’s always the very first thing I neglect. Now, here I am, blogging sessions from ages ago, simply because I can’t bear the thought of not sharing them! For this senior session, I had the opportunity to work with McKenna, who requested that we shoot down in Cottage Grove– her hometown. I’ve only had a handful of shoots in Cottage Grove, which is such a bummer because it is the cutest town! I really need to make it a point to schedule sessions down there…
Cottage Grove is so rustic and full of personality! It’s honestly a photographer’s dream! We started McKenna’s session downtown, taking full advantage of all of the colors, buildings and highlighting the unique characteristics that it had to offer. From sidewalks to alleyways and bridges to storefronts, McKenna and I hit the literal location jackpot every step of the way! From there, we went to the cutest garden, which is also used for weddings and absolutely loaded with places to shoot.
We wrapped up McKenna’s session at sunset by venturing out to the river to get some gorgeous shots along the rocks, followed by some gorgeous open-field shots. We chased every last drop of sunshine, which happens with most of my sessions. All in all, Cottage Grove is a little gem of a location that I would love to explore again at a future session! (Any takers? Let’s go!) To McKenna, I hope you loved your experience! Thank you so much for choosing me to be your senior photographer, I absolutely loved working with you! You’re the best tour guide! Much love!!
