I learned early on in my photography business that I was drawn to working with teen girls. There was just something about them that inspired me and my photography. The energy and excitement they had for their senior sessions was off the charts and it affected my energy and excitement, too- in great ways. In the beginning, for me, choosing to specialize in senior portraits for girls was all about the fact that I simply LOVED working with that specific demographic. But over the years, my reasoning and passion for what I do has morphed into something so much bigger than I ever imagined it would be.
Being a girl- at any age- is hard. I mean, being human is hard, too. ;) But for girls, there is an added level of scrutiny. It comes from society, the media, peers, parents, sometimes even friends… Let’s face it, it’s everywhere. It isn’t often that girls are given permission to simply feel beautiful in the skin they’re in. And that’s not okay with me. During a senior session, my goal is to bring out your authentic beauty- every single time. I want you to see yourself through my eyes, from a different angle and point-of-view than you normally see yourself. You will experience a one-of-a-kind photo shoot, focused solely on you. Yes, I will spend a great amount of time and care perfecting the posing and details, engaging with you to provoke beautiful, relaxed expressions and candid laughter. In the end, you won’t only look gorgeous– you’ll feel it, too! And that’s a beautiful thing.
