Snow senior pictures are absolutely breathtaking and seem to be popping up more and more lately. Living in the Willamette Valley, we aren’t blessed with snowfall very often- but when we got it two years ago, I celebrated with a beautiful senior session in the snow. Since it isn’t likely we’ll be seeing proof of winter on our grounds anytime soon, I decided if I can’t get the snow here, I’ll go to the snow instead. Who’s with me?
There’s something so magical and captivating about playing among the snowflakes, it’s kind of like standing in the middle of a snow globe. And who doesn’t want to do that? My snow senior pictures with Grace are still one of my all-time favorite sessions to date. We didn’t have an agenda, we didn’t follow any rules. We were just two girls, playing in the snow. It was the epitome of a Young & Free moment, one I’ll never forget. Living in the Pacific Northwest, we’re so lucky to have hundreds of locations available at our fingertips that would make for the perfect backdrop for wintery senior pictures.
The truth about shooting in the snow, as beautiful as it looks, it’s also very cold. Especially when you aren’t bundled in proper attire for it- snow pants, boots, jackets, beanies, scarves, etc. Since we know that our clients want to wear something cute and completely impractical in their pictures, torturing them with a long shoot would be downright cruel. This sparked a new idea for us: Snow Mini Sessions. Sounds fun, right? It will be! We’re opening our February & March calendar up for snow senior sessions. Even if you’ve already taken your senior pictures when the weather was nice, you can still get in on this fun, unique experience, too!
