Eek!! That’s the only word I have been able to use to describe how I feel about my new website! Haha! It has been a journey to get here, but oh what fun it has been! :) I am a do-it-yourself kinda girl. I like control. It’s one of the many reasons I turned to Showit several years ago for my website- they gave me the necessary tools to create a custom site based on my vision- not a template. Over the course of the past few years, I have had many websites. As my branding shifted and focus gravitated to one genre of photographer (SENIOR GIRLS!!), I modified my site to follow my niche.

And then I got stuck.  I knew what I wanted in a site, but I didn’t know the right way to convey it.  But I was scared.  Scared to let someone else step in and try to create my vision, to translate my thoughts into reality, to add their own ideas to my brand…  It terrified me to relinquish control and trust that someone else would ever understand my brand the way that I did…  But I did.  And they did.  And I cannot tell you how over the moon I am with what the amazing team at Thea Creative came up with.  It is the perfect representation of me, my brand, my photography & my clients.  Eek!!  :)

It all started with Field Notes.  After showing Heather what I had designed for our Workshop in a Book, she practically shook me through the Skype screen, “That’s your website, Holls!” she exclaimed.  “Your site needs to look and feel like Field Notes.”  It took me a minute to realize it, but she was totally right.  When I designed the layout for Field Notes, I wanted it to be simple, clean and beautiful.  Field Notes became the inspiration for our new site, logo & brand- and Heather & Jamie nailed it right on the head.  While I had been fearing losing my identity by having their help, I quickly realized I was still hiding behind the photographer I had been years ago and they were helping me discover the photographer I am today and gave me my new voice.

Heather & Jamie, I cannot thank you enough for EVERYTHING!  Your countless hours, support, love & friendship mean everything to us.  This process has been so incredible and I cannot tell you how much we have loved every minute of it.  You two are AMAZING and we could not have done this without you.  You two are truly talented and we could not love everything you have done for us more.  Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for everything.  LOVE YOU!!  If you haven’t yet, you can view our new website here.  Be sure to check out Thea Creative for your design & logo needs- they are incredible!!
