::Workshop:: Senior Portrait Photographer

I have a pit in my stomach the size of Texas as I sit in front of my computer and write this post.  It has been a long time coming, a lot of blood, sweat and tears to jump this hurdle and face my fears head-on.  Fear of rejection.  Fear of the unknown.  Fear of failure.  It scares me.  But nothing scares me more than failing than failing to at least try.  So, today I am wearing my big-girl pants and my chin is held high.  I am putting myself out there and I am going to try something new.  I might fail, though I hope to succeed.

Two years ago I made a change to my senior portrait line that was terrifying.  But I knew I had to address the things I loved about my business and the things that I didn’t.  Through the changes I gained clarity that proved to be monumental to my life and to my business.  Putting these changes to action literally propelled my senior line in ways I never dreamed possible.  It was both humbling and exhilarating.  I now have a senior line that I am not only in love with, I am proud of it, too.  It’s the most amazing feeling!

I have always shot down the idea of ever hosting a photography workshop because, lets face it, there are so many amazing workshops that are already out there.  I didn’t think that I had anything to teach.  But over the past year I’ve seen a huge increase on messages and emails from fellow photographers who have questions regarding my senior line, which gave me an idea.  If you know me, you know that I constantly have ideas- these ideas tend to terrify my hubby.  :)  But once an idea is in my head, the gears start turning and it becomes an obsession in only a matter of days.  These little obsessions are what tend to drive my business and my willpower.  :)  Case in point, the workshop.

If you would like more information on the Senior Portrait Workshop, please feel free to check out the website, which is packed with details outlining everything you need to know!  It is sure to be a stellar event that I hope you will want to be a part of!  :)  I am so excited for all that 2011 is going to bring and can’t wait to see where it takes all of us!  Happy New Year!!
