So, I kinda fell off the face of the Earth last week. In a nutshell, life got crazy and continued to compile and build and take over my brain and my life… I’m sure you’ve been there before. Whenever that happens to me, the only way I can stay sane and in control is to simply unplug and recenter. And so, that’s exactly what I did. :) I took an unexpected mental vacation. Let me tell you, I am so happy I did. Just having that couple of days off to think, dream and process was everything I needed.
I’ve been toying with things on my blog, making small adjustments to the overall look and feel. This past fall I got rid of having a website and a blog and decided to go with a stand-alone blogsite. I am very happy with this decision. However, since then, it’s been a work in progress for me, trying to unveil the perfect blend of awesome that visually stimulates, while also being easy to navigate. I’m getting closer, but I’m still not quite there, so, please be patient with me as I continually make changes. If you like what you see, please let me know! I would love your input along the way!!
On the photography front, I am so, so, SO EXCITED to share my gorgeous snow senior pictures with Grace today! OMG!! I can’t even express in words how much I love this session! This time of year is considered my off-season, mainly because it’s typically really wet and windy here in Oregon November-March. This year has been pretty amazing, though, as we’ve had two huge winter storms that gave us snow- which is very rare in the South Willamette Valley. This last winter storm gave us 9″ of snow in one day. This may not seem like much to many of you, but for us, it’s a lot!
When Grace and I started talking about her session, we were just getting into our rainy season, so I figured it would be Spring before we could schedule anything. But then something magical happened. Snow was in our forecast and I started thinking how much fun it would be to shoot in it. When I threw the idea at Grace, she was just as excited as me and we started planning her fabulous session. Needless to say, the images from this session are so much more than I ever imagined they could be. To date, this is one of my favorite sessions I have ever done.
Grace, I cannot thank you enough for simply being you. I know you froze your booty off for this shoot, but you were so cool about everything and such a pleasure to work with. You killed it, girl! I hope you love the end result as much as I do and I really hope to work with you again in the future- I’m thinking sunshine and open fields… ;) Much love!
