Our day began at 5:20 am. After a night of tossing and turning in bed, thanks to mix of excitement and this incredibly obnoxious cold I can’t seem to shake, the sound of the alarm was bittersweet. I didn’t want morning to be here yet, as I was now sleeping like a baby- thank you Tylenol PM. However, October 11th had finally come. Maui Day!
I refused to allow myself to really think about this day. I knew if I did, the day would take F.O.R.E.V.E.R. to get here. So, I tried to block it from my thoughts as much as I could. Though, to be completely honest, it was always there. :) Maui. Perfect, sunny, beachy, beautiful, tropical, Maui.
This trip is going to be one of the most amazing journeys our family will ever take. How often do you get to travel thousands of miles away with the majority of your family? Parents, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews…? Not too often. So we know how fortunate we are to be here with so many people that we love. :)
In two short days our nephew, Mychal, (who is only about 5 or 6 years younger than me!) will be marrying the love of his life, Sandra. This is their dream wedding and we were asked to photograph and preserve their day for them. Priceless. :) We are just so honored and truly happy for them.
Wedding aside, this is also one of the very first trips our little family has ever taken together to a place like Maui. A place where we can just play on the beach together, lounge on a lanai, share some shaved ice and simply just enjoy each others company. A real and true vacation where we can just be a family. It’s priceless. Never have I ever felt more blessed.
Here are a few pictures we snapped today. We hope it brings a little sunshine to your day! :) XOXO- The True’s
