Urban portrait session in Downtown Eugene, Oregon
Living in a beautiful, picturesque place like Oregon, it’s easy to understand why so many of my clients choose breathtaking scenic locations for their sessions. With that said, I always love when I get to shoot an urban portrait session, just to change things up! When Cass and I started planning the details for her shoot, we decided to wing it a little by going on a photo walk. Basically, this means we agreed to meet at one location, then walked around to see what else we could find nearby. The great thing about shooting like this is that we can typically find a ton of hidden gems! During her session, this was definitely the case!
I have driven past the Heron Building thousands of times, but Cass was the very first client I had ever photographed in front of it. After snapping a few shots along the sidewalk, we decided to start exploring other areas nearby. We found some amazing places that we couldn’t see from the street! It was so much fun! As a lover of light, no matter where I am shooting, it’s a guarantee that I will always chase the sun. Despite being in an urban environment, we still captured some gorgeous sunset pictures because they’re my favorite!
