It was in the middle of the crazy senior portrait season that I found myself craving a personal project. I could feel myself falling into a systematic pattern with my shoots and I knew that a personal project would shake things up and allow me to wipe the creative slate clean. We were heading over to Bend for a marathon weekend with five shoots booked over the course of two days. When I informed my husband that I was going to schedule an additional shoot for fun, he thought I had lost my mind. By that point in the season, maybe I had, but I was determined, so I did it anyway. I reached out to Matty and booked a shoot with her, absolutely floored when I discovered that she had recently done some modeling for American Eagle. My favorite. Um, what?! Yes, please! Check out her feature on the AE blog!
Everything seemed to fall perfectly into place for this shoot. The sun was shining, the leaves were turning colors and the lighting was incredible. Within minutes of starting to photograph Matty, I knew the images were going to be everything I hoped they would be and more. One sun-kissed image after another, before we knew it, two hours had passed and we were losing light. But, truth be told, I’m pretty sure we both could have continued shooting another couple of hours, if only there was enough daylight left. Next time I’ll know to plan for more time during our shoot. ;)
Matty, I can’t thank you enough for such an amazing photo shoot. You absolutely rocked it, the camera loves you, girl! You were so much fun to work with and I cannot begin to express how much I love the images we captured. The energy and excitement you brought to the shoot was so awesome and I really hope to work with you again in the future! Much love!!
