I managed to enter into 2018 with a terrible cold, which is less than ideal. I hate being sick almost as much as I hate spiders, peas and paper cuts. On the upside, it allowed me to spend yesterday curled-up on my couch, watching countless hours of football. Of course, there’s a downside to being sick, but I’m choosing to focus on the positive. :) Aside from watching football, I also received a few messages regarding my 2018 GOALS & DREAMS post that I shared yesterday. A few of you mentioned how busy my year is going to be, which kind of made me giggle because I actually scaled back my workload from years past. A few others reached out with questions about other dates for the EVOKE RETREAT. I planning three events for 2018 but only the May event has been announced. Stay tuned for the next date release!
Today’s blog feature belongs to the lovely, Kate. I had the opportunity to travel up to Corvallis for her senior session and explore their adorable and quaint downtown area. It’s seriously the cutest place! Kate opted for a morning shoot, which I honestly love. Morning light is so bright, it really allows colors to pop. I loved how vibrant and bold her images were straight out of camera. Most photographers don’t prefer morning light, but over the years, I have learned to appreciate the unique versatility that it offers. Light really speaks a different language during a morning shoot, which I find to be inspiring and incredibly beautiful. Just like working with evening light, I change up the locations I work in, alternating between full sun, partial shade and full shade. I am a lover of light, no matter what time of day it is.
Kate, I can’t thank you enough for choosing me to be your senior photographer. I had the best time working with you and exploring downtown Corvallis! I hope you’re loving every minute of your senior year! Happy New Year to you and your family! Much love!
