Finish what you start | Holli True Author

Patience. Something I seem to be lacking these days. Which is kinda funny, because I have never really been an impatient person. That is until I delivered five copies of my recently written novel to my test readers. Enter the impatience. I am literally beside myself with anticipation and anxiety as I wait to receive feedback from everyone. Holy crap- it’s rough to wait!

I’ve received feedback from two people, so far. And I can’t lie, I am so happy with what they both had to say about “Reckless”. Yes, there are a few minor kinks to work through and a couple modifications that need to be made. But their overall consensus was that they both loved the story and the characters! With the countless number of hours I spent structuring my thoughts and ideas, you can imagine what that kind of response meant to me. Truth be told, there are no words to describe it.

Some of you might be surprised to hear that “Reckless” is the very first book that I have ever finished writing. That’s kind of embarrassing to admit, but I’m all about honesty, so there you have it. I can’t even fathom the number of stories I’ve started, the characters I’ve imagined or the scenes I’ve written out in detail. No joke, it would probably (easily) be in the thousands. But never, not once, did I ever finish one of those stories. I would get a portion of the way through, sometimes stranded at the beginning, while nearly making it to the end with others. But none of them really ever felt like the right story for me, so I never completed them. It actually became a bit of a joke with my family, which was awesome to deal with.  Or not.

But then “Reckless” happened. Hailey & Jonah happened. And, although I can’t explain how or why, my life hasn’t felt the same ever since. Yeah, I know that might sound weird. I don’t know, maybe it is. But I’ll take it. There’s just something magnetic about Hailey & Jonah that continually pulls me in, willing me to bring their love and their story to life. So, I am. In the most authentic way I possibly can.

My hope is that you will give their love a chance when “Reckless” finally releases this summer. I am getting so close to announcing the launch date, so be sure to keep checking back so you will be the first to know! And, if you are an aspiring author out there, reading this blog post- I encourage you to FINISH YOUR BOOK! Don’t live a life of what ifs and maybes. I know it’s hard, but you can do it! Now rock it out!! XO!
